SiteLink contributes to Capital City Renaissance

Montgomery - AL

Montgomery is a city remaking itself, and in the process, making big things happen. At the heart of Alabama’s capital is a new and innovative lighting plan incorporating SiteLink as its new pole standard. In this application Holophane Teardrops provide ample boulevard lighting, mounted on 30ft T2 SiteLink poles.

Pedestrian Teardrops are mounted at 14ft to illuminate sidewalks and building facades. The T2 pole design supports additional accessories such as security surveillance equipment, as well as banner arms, planters and flag holders.

The additional loading capability and modularity of the SiteLink system appeal to the city planners for future adaptation to new equipment needs or future modifications as the city embarks on additional renovations in its downtown district.

At the base of the assembly is a two-piece North Yorkshire clamshell which complements the overall assembly and adds a finishing touch to the design.

Fresno Convention Center gets in the groove

Fresno - CA

The Fresno Convention Center spans over five city blocks and boasts five separate facilities. Holophane recently helped the Convention Center to improve even further on their reputation for “functional efficiency” with the SiteLink pole system. The City of Fresno had future adaptability considerations for amenities (i.e. planters, sound system, banners, etc.) and the SiteLink track system was an obvious choice.

The auxiliary isolated wire ways were appealing for use as an irrigation conduit for the planters, and also as a low voltage wire way for speaker/sound systems.  We were able to introduce the Site link T2 pole as an alternative to the specified cast aluminum pole, and it provided an immediate, successful resolution to the needs of the City of Fresno.

As part of the original phase, we included GFCI receptacles with lockable in-use covers, provisions for a toggle switch & lockable cover plate to operate the catenaries system, and a custom tenon to accommodate the specified Louis Poulsen luminaire.

A little bit about the assembly
The SiteLink assembly includes SiteLink T2 Pole with top-mount 2-3/8” x 4” tenon provision, 18ft mounting height, finished semi gloss black, bottom outlet box location 24” from grade level.

  • Eyebolt adaptor plate for catenaries
  • Auxiliary wire exit with cord grip for
    catenary lighting system feed
  • GFCI duplex, 20A 120V
  • Various Competitors Lighting

Carowinds - "SiteLink goes Hollywood!"

Charlotte - NC

One of the most popular family entertainment attractions in the Southeast, Paramount’s Carowinds Theme and Water Park, selects SiteLink for their new lighting plan.

Known for its 60 state of the art rides, attractions for all ages, and the very best in Hollywood entertainment, the park easily embraces the SiteLink winning principles, which are:

  • Seasonality
  • Ease of Use and Versatility
  • Future Loading Capability
  • Full Site Coordination
  • Product Durability
  • Enduring Aesthetics

The modular and extremely versatile TracLoc System is a perfect fit for the open-all year amusement park. The changing seasons brings changing themes, decorations and signage, which is important to a vibrant and energy-focused public space. And a space like this requires intuitive, easy to use equipment to change banners with the seasons and to promote coming attractions.

The SiteLink Pole Assemblies also play music with two outdoor speaker systems for each pole in addition to GFCI outlets that allow for holiday lighting and decorations.

“This was the ideal application for Sitelink”, says Curt Dennis, Holophane Sales Representative, Charlotte, NC. “The facility manager and maintenance crews really like the product because it saves them a ton of time on banner and sign change-outs.”

A little bit about the assembly

The SiteLink assembly includes twin Pechina mounted on a 30’ T3 pole assembly using BR40002 horizontal mounting brackets.

  • GCFI Outlet mounted at 29’.
  • Break-Away Banner Arms are positioned at 19’ and 14’ and support 3’ x 5’ fabric banners that often have a seasonal theme or promotion.
  • At 12’, two speakers are mounted for themed music and public announcements.
  • At 10’, flower baskets are mounted using an SLFPA18HT3 mounting arms.
  • An extruded smooth decorative clamshell base rounds out the assembly.
  • All components are finished using a custom RAL color RAL5011.

Cocoa Beach Surf Company "gets in the groove"

Cocoa Beach - FL

Holophane recently helped the Cocoa Beach Surf Company in Florida to add new façade lighting that matched the architectural look and feel of the beachfront site.

Working with Martin Professional and the Gallegos Lighting, Holophane helped to provide the popular surf shop the functional scalability of the SiteLink product line along with aesthetic and architectural requirements needed for theme lighting. Façade lighting such as this needs to not only be functional in terms of illumination, but often needs to also be part of the architectural “orchestra” that provides a specific ambience and even “theatrical” feel at times.

SiteLink and Martin Architectural Lighting came together to bring the customer exactly what they need today, along with expandability for tomorrow.

Daytime pastels - blue, yellow, orange, and turquoise - create a look that is both distinctive and inviting, however the customer wanted to draw attention to the building long into the night. Originally lit in an outline of neon white light, owners sought a more eye-catching lighting scheme.

SiteLink Winning Principles:

1.     Easy Installation and Maintenance:  Through the use of a “T” Nut kit and a mounting template, the Martin Architectural Exterior 600 and Light Jockey 2 fixtures were easily assembled to the T2 Shaft.  The lighting configuration may be changed in the future to accommodate architectural changes the building or different lighting conditions for special events.

2.     Future Loading Capability:  The T2 Shaft within this configuration will accommodate additional loading requirements, such as signage, new lighting, flat screen monitors, digital displays, wi-fi communications, and sound systems.

3.     Product Durability:  The product was specified to include a PVDF Kynar finish to resist the corrosive environment of a seaside location.

4.     Clean Aesthetic Appearance:  SiteLink is part of the architectural design of the lighting layout by integrating and attaching the lighting equipment without the use of traditional attachment methods.
